About Peso Pluma
Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, professionally known as Peso Pluma, is a prominent Mexican singer born in 1999. His musical journey began in his early teens when he learned to play the guitar and started writing songs inspired by regional Mexican music. Pluma gained recognition with his studio albums "Ah y Qué?" and "Efectos Secundarios," but it was his collaboration with Raul Vega on "El Belicón" that propelled him to fame in 2022, selling 480,000 units and earning multiple platinum certifications. Known for his distinct style blending corridos tumbados with elements of Latin urban music, he has become a significant figure in the revival of corridos. Pluma's success soared with hits like "AMG" and "Ella Baila Sola," making history with the latter by reaching the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Despite controversies surrounding some of his songs and performances, Pluma continues to dominate the Latin music scene, earning accolades like the Grammy Award for Best Música Mexicana Album for his album "Génesis." With his crossover appeal and record-breaking achievements, Peso Pluma stands as one of Mexico's most streamed artists of all time, drawing comparisons to the likes of Bad Bunny while maintaining his unique musical identity.
